During all the time I've been using, I have never had this happen;
Last night, I prepared a shot of MS Contin, 100mg. It's by no means a large dose for me, usually, having shot that much, and a lot more, on many occasions. Usually I'm lucky to feel 100mg. Anyway, I had the shot, and I had barely pulled the needle out before I felt myself blacking out. I put all my strength into not passing out, packed away the fit, and staggered out to the couch, only just making it. I was having an incredibly difficult time trying to stay awake, and was certain I wasn't going to wake up again. I did, obviously. It was terrifying - my body just wanted to drift off into a heavy sleep, but I knew that if I didn't force myself to keep my eyes open, then I could possibly be in trouble. I'm on 12mg Suboxone each day, and yesterday morning I had double dosed so I wouldn't have to go in today for dosing (I was going out of town for the day before the clinic opened) - I think the 24mg Suboxone + 100mg Morphine overpowered me like nothing I've experienced on opiates before. I'm an atheist, but fuck, I was definitely saying a silent prayer to the universe to let me come out of this still breathing. I even swore I would never use on top of my bupe again... ... in true form of an addict though, I did, about 15 minutes ago. Sorry this is getting a bit long, but I have a question too - For my entire morphine experience, I've always had that wonderful pins and needle, warm rush. I find though, that if I bang it on top of bupe, I get an unpleasant rush, the pins and needles being more like hot rods being pressed again my scalp, and then other parts of my body - it it actually painful. Has anyone else ever experienced this, either by itself, or when using on top of Suboxone? I'm grateful to be here today! |

from my experiance, when you use ontop of
suboxone, it lessens the effects of the second drug...I dunno, maybe
different when IV admin...but I railed 160 mg of oxy, and the day
before I had taken 32 mg of suboxone...and I just didnt really feel the
oxy at all...I dunno, maybe it effects everyone differently.....be
careful sir

I can use on top of Suboxone, and still
feel the second drug - it's been like that from the start (for me
anyway). Even though Bupe is only a partial agonist, it still has
depressant effects on the CNS. With the Morphine used on top of that, I
think it just totally crashed my system to barely able to function.
Synack, thank you. I hope to still be the only hopping turtle here for a long while yet. I was terrified - if I had a vial of Narcan sitting around, I would have put everything I had into drawing some up and using it. I was even considering calling an ambulance, but I couldn't get up. It was taking enough energy to stay awake, let alone getting up to call a phone. As I was staggering out of the bathroom, I felt like my legs weren't even attached to anything, or hitting the ground - my vision was closing in, and I thought that finally, my drug use was leading me to a coffin. People have been convinced that drugs would be the end of me for a long time. I thought they were right. You have no idea how relieved I was to wake up today. The disappointing thing is, that despite all this, I'm still a junkie, and the probability of something like that happening again is high. Thanks for your replies - I'm not very well known on the boards yet, but am feeling more comfortable with posting every day. |

well Im glad you didnt die, the closest I
have been to OD is when I took WAY too much oxy when I first started,
like 100mg of that oxydose liquid, and railed 2 roxi 30s.......and I
had zero pupils and couldnt stay away, my friend and I stayed up all
night keeping each other awake....eventually I went and sat in the
pool, and when I would doze off he would splash me....it was kinda
scary, but just staying awake wore it off...I had to work a 12 hour
shift the next day, it sucked ass.....anyways be careful, we hae to
many casualties in the opiate world and only makes the prohibition
peoples case better......take care man

next time you take a hit - and you're
alone, and no one will be back soon... keep that narcan near... shit,
it needs to come in a spring loaded version... like an epi-pen.

Fucking oath it does! Imagine how many
lives would be saved if Narcan was available as an auto-injector. I
guess the problem is that it needs to be administered IV. I'm not sure
if they give it out at needle exchanges here, but shit, they should
stock it (I know it's given out in sharps kits in other countries), or
at least make the laws so doctors can prescribe a vial 'just in case'.
Perhaps they can.. I need to look into that further.
It spun me out though because I've been injecting opioids for good while, and never had this happen. Just goes to show that no matter how educated you are, and how much tolerance you have, you can NEVER be too careful! |

I've had some similar effects to what you're descrbing in the begining, except for the blacking out part.
About a year or so ago I got my hands on some Duramorph solution. 1mg/1ml I injected about 60 mls about 7 hours after dosing on methadone. around 20 seconds after the shot i started feeling slight pins and needles which gradually became worse and worse untill my hands(especially left one) felt like they had circulation cut off. They werev both red and swollen and my head became heavy and pounding. My face was bright red and in stead of euphoria all i could feel was uncomfortable drowsiness which persisted for about 15 minutes. I was left with a terrible headache and at some point even wondered if i'd had a mild stroke or something - gee that would be fun! the next day i decided to give it another shot, literally, and without thinking about it slammed the remaining 60mls. This time about 12 hours after dosing on methadone. The result was very similar as the previous day, it just sucked. Though not quite as bad as the previous day and i didnt get much of a headache this time. Immediately I thought that something was wrong with the morphine i got, some contamination of some sort. I never got anything of the sort from any dose of H even after dosing on methadone. Few months later i read a few post on yahoo's alt.drugs groups page and some people reported similar stuff after injecting morphine on top of certain drugs, especially methadone. Apparently some people just get a terrible histamine reaction to morphine after injecting. I haven't shot any morphine since |

oh yeah and also speaking of narcan, this
reminds me of an episode of cops i saw the other night. guy was BARELY
breathing, not moving at all, completey passed out from a shot of dope,
well anyway the cops and ambulance gets there...they shoot him up with
narcan (and from waht i saw it looked like they gave the shot thru his
jugular) and BOOM, 5 seconds later, the guy is awake (out of it, but
awake) the joys of narcan, eh...

And yes, I do hate giving opioid addicts Narcan, but when a high-purity shipment comes into the area, and the person is barely breathing, there's not much choice in the matter. |

Yeah, it's bizarre, I probably SHOULDN'T be able to feel anything on top of Suboxone, but I can. Not as great as if I wasn't on it at all, but I definitely feel it. When my dose got bumped up to 12mg I was certain I wouldn't feel anything anymore, but I can. I think I must be some opioid freak of nature, but hell, in this case, I'm not complaining. |
